Ofsted & SIAMS Reports

Ofsted

OFSTED is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They report directly to Parliament and are responsible for inspecting and regulating schools, pre-schools, nurseries, and any services caring for children and young people, as well as those providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

We  had our OFSTED inspection in October 2023.

The school has not been subject to an Ofsted inspection for 13 years and the Ofsted frameworks by which we are judged by have changed 5 times in those years. I am extremely pleased with the inspection report and the outcomes under this framework. The inspector recognised so many qualities for example  ‘a sense of belonging. Many opportunities are sought for everyone to support one another.’

Central to the school are the values of ‘friendship, respect, love, trust, forgiveness and peace’. Pupils respond positively to the school’s values and they behave well. Everyone in the school cares for one another. Staff provide for pupils’ well-being.

There is an ambitious and well-structured curriculum. Teachers’ subject knowledge is strong. Skilful questioning helps guide pupils’ understanding.

SIAMS

It gives me great pleasure in advising that during our recent SIAMS inspection for Gayton school, we achieved the highest grading of ‘Excellence’ in all areas.

I am incredibly proud of everyone, staff and pupils should be congratulated on this achievement. Thank you to those parents who spoke so highly of the school to the inspector.

The report is truly wonderful and captures our school perfectly. I particularly love this: This is indeed a place where watching over one another in love is normal.’

‘Pupil achievement is high, pupil engagement and resilience, exemplary.’
