Welcome to Rosen Class

I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday and enjoyed some special time together. It has been wonderful to welcome the children back this week, and I am so excited to be working with them for another fun and exciting year of learning. The children have made a brilliant start already, settling quickly back into routines and showing great enthusiasm for their new year.

This year, Class 2 will now be known as Rosen Class, chosen by the children themselves in celebration of their love for Michael Rosen’s book Chocolate Cake. They are very proud of their new class name and are already enjoying being part of Rosen Class.

A few reminders for the year ahead:

• PE Days – Our PE days are now Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child’s PE kit is kept in school. This should include a black top, shorts or joggers, and a black jacket/jumper for outdoor PE.

• Reading – Children in Year 3 will now be bringing home one book from our reading corner each week alongside their colour banded book. These books should be returned each Thursday so they can be swapped for a new one. Children in Year 2 will continue to take home both a phonics book and their colour banded book each week.

Thank you as always for your continued support. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things Rosen Class will achieve together.
