What's going on?

Welcome back to another busy term. I do hope your children are excited to begin 2020!

Our topic is The Americas and will have a Geography theme. We are looking forward to travelling to the other side of the globe in order to learn about environments.

In English, we will we will be looking at a tale of fear. We'll be analysing the structure and tools used in our model text, The Nightmare Man, and working towards producing our own tale of fear in a hot-write. In addition, children will be working hard to produce quality short-burst writes and focussing in on comprehension skills, studying literature and a variety of poems.

Our Art this term will involve making tessellations that fit together, printing and sculpture. We will look at the work of Frida Kahlo. We will be doing lots of food technology this term related to our topic.

In Science, we will be looking at animal including the human’s circulatory system. We will also continue with light and electricity through continuous provision.

This term, in Religious Education, we will be looking at the unit, ‘’Creation and Science: conflicting or complimentary.” Children will be facing thought-provoking questions and forming informed opinions on these.

In PSHE, we will be looking at ‘Dreams and goals’ during PSHE lessons. We will also explore our value of through our daily worship and in class.

In Physical Education, we are continuing to use Real PE to support our lessons. The emphasis for children will be learning skills and developing themselves, not just as a sports player but as a team player.

Thank you for your continued support. It truly is invaluable both to me and your children. Be sure to keep up to date with ClassDojo in order to see what's going on in class.

As always, if you have any questions or queries about your child’s learning or wellbeing, please pop in and see me.
