CE Primary School

Whittlebury Class 2, Mrs Aston

This term our Geography focus is on India. We will be looking at enhancing our mapping skills and our knowledge and understanding of the world's continents and oceans. We will then be exploring the physical and human geography of India.

In English, our focus this term will be on a poetry where we will be exploring personification. After that we will be improving our instructional writing skills through the exciting world of SUPERHEROES.

In maths, we will be focusing on our multiplication and division skills and developing our formal methods. Daily maths challenges (and Barvember work through November) help to keep all areas of maths fresh in our minds along with the use of TT Rockstars and Mathletics, which the children have access to at home. We try and take maths outside as much as possible to really help embed number facts in a practical way!

In RE, we will be exploring the concept of The Trinity in Christianity. We will look at how this is represented through gospel and through art work.

Our topic this term in Science, is electricity for year 3 and 4. We will be looking at what circuits are, how they work and how we can make our own. Year 2 will be looking at how materials are used.

We use Class Dojo to keep our lovely parents up-to-date with all of our learning, and it is also a fabulous way for the children to earn points for their learning and their behaviour.

It is sure to be a busy and exciting term for everyone at Whittlebury and we thank the parents of our children for their continued support. Please click on the attachment below to view this terms Topic Letter which will outline what aspects of the curriculum will be covered this term
