Tiffield CLASS 1
A huge welcome to all our class 1 children! I’m sure you all had a magnificent Christmas break and are excited to get started on our new learning this term.
Our topic this term is called ‘If you go down to the forest today’. We will be asking the children what this means to them and exploring their ideas about what they would like to learn about. More information to follow soon about our antics!
In English, we will continue to focus on basic grammar and sentence structure. We will also look at expanded noun phrases, exclamation, question sentences and the use of commas. Our units this term will include a tale of fear (The owl who was afraid of the dark), report writing and a fable.
In RE we will be exploring people's beliefs, taking part in Collective Worship and preparing for our Easter service.
We are always looking for parents to come in and help read, so if you think you would like to spend a bit of time in the classroom reading with our wonderful children please let me know.
If you have any questions or queries about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to pop in and see me. My door is always open.
