Tiffield CLASS 2
Our topic for this term is India. In this we will be exploring the customs, physical and human geography of this fascinating subcontinent. This will include some atlas work, which will allow children to consolidate their existing skills or develop new skills in this area.
In English, we will be working on a hybrid explanation/ persuasive text. This will be inspired by spy gadgets and the Alex Rider series of books. In this unit, children will be learning how to use a variety of persuasive devices and how to organise and write an engaging explanation.
In maths, both Years 3 and 4 will be continuing to develop their multiplication skills. Year 5 will be finishing their work on long division before moving on to work on word problems, graphs and fractions. Year 6 will be finishing off their work on fractions before moving on to developing their understanding of decimals.
We will be continuing our Ukulele work with NMPAT this term and children in Year 5 and Year 6 will be attending Forest School.
The children will also be exploring, in depth, the idea of the Holy Trinity and what this means to Christians. Furthermore, our value for this term is trust.
